How Russellville Florist and Gifts Began

If you’re from our small town of Russellville, Alabama, you may know Russellville Florist and Gifts for its large year round window displays on main street. I love watching couples and families walk by the store to try to catch a glimpse of our newest display before it is officially up and moving. If you haven’t been in, the inside is just as magical as the windows. There are tables stacked neatly with brightly colored bags, large glittering candles, and giant pink flamingos with a beach towel pyramid. At any given time, the shop is filled with the smells of peonies, gardenias, or any number of different fresh cut flowers. It’s crazy to sometimes think of how this all began.

I dreamed of owning my own florist shop since my late teen years. While working in another field, I started arranging flowers in my spare time. In 2006, I opened a home based business primarily dealing with silk flowers for funeral decoration. Working with silk flowers is nice, but once I started using fresh flowers for a few local weddings I was hooked! I could not wait to learn more about different floral designs, but there was only so much I could do from the spare bedroom.

In 2018, I had saved enough to purchase the storefront in downtown Russellville, where I have slowly turned my dreams into a reality. The Russellville community and surrounding area welcomed me with open arms and allowed me to embrace my creative side a little more each year. It is the support of our community that allowed us to survive the pandemic and expand our gift offerings to include beautiful seasonal decor and designer exclusives. If you haven’t been by the store to check out our latest display, I would love for you to come by and see what we have to offer!

I don’t know what the future has in store for Russellville Florist and Gifts, but I hope to see you in it.
